Become a Caddy Daddy

All El Zaribah Shriners,

Why should I become a “Caddy Daddy” you ask? Good question but a relatively easy one to answer. We are sure you know what the role of a real golfer caddie is and this is similar to that function. Just as a caddie advises, helps, and assists the golfer in any way possible to fulfill his dream of winning a championship, our “Caddy Daddy” program will assist our children in reaching their dreams of walking, running, playing, etc., like every other child. It is a term we decided that would be appropriate for asking for donations for the Shrine Classic Golf Tournament that benefits the Temple and the Transportation Fund for our children to the hospitals. As a side note, the Shrine Classic Golf Tournament has contributed in excess of $200,000 to the Transportation Fund since it’s inception in 1997 and is getting bigger and better each year.

What do you get for your donation? For one thing, you get this neat little pin to wear denoting your contribution to the children and your Temple. However, the greatest gift you will receive is knowing you have helped keep our Temple operating and the Transportation Fund at the level required to support transporting our children to the hospitals! Isn’t taking care of the children what Shriners are all about?

How do you contribute? Just send a donation of whatever you can afford ($20 or more is requested) to the Temple to the attention of the “Caddy Daddy” program. Those donating will have their names listed in the Arabian Tales under the heading, “Caddy Daddy” Supporters. Whether you donate or not, you may keep the pin as our gift to you. We sincerely hope you will give this some consideration and donate generously to the program. The children and the Classic Golf Committee thank you in advance for your support.
